As I have already said, even the most expensive wedding cannot secure you from the risks of getting a divorce.

marriage cracked egg shellSince we are gossiping today, let’s continue this interesting topic and try to understand what happens when a man and a woman who have spent millions on their wedding decide to separate. In other words, I would like to speak about the most expensive divorces in history.

Why am I talking about it? Simply because divorces have become part of our reality. We do not want to make decisions. We want a divorce. And we also want to get some profit from it. Expensive divorces stir the hearts and minds of ordinary people around the world.

One of the most expensive has been the divorce of Guy Ritchie and Madonna. However, unlike many other star divorces, it is Madonna who shared her millions with the ex-husband. They used to be happy for 8 years, but when their marriage came to an end, Madonna had to pay more than $70 million, to make sure that everything went smoothly for her and her children. The situation is quite unique, but not for Hollywood, where the most expensive divorces can be also the most unusual. Just take a look at Sumner and Phyllis Redstone: they have spent together 52 years! No matter what happened to their family and why they decided to separate, their divorce could have become the most expensive ever! Phyllis could easily get more than $2 billion for the years she had spent with her husband. Yet, they say that she got only $100 million. This is just a trifle of what Phyllis hoped to earn from her divorce, which is not enough to have a happy and luxurious life.

$100 million was also the cost of the divorce between Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren. Steven Spielberg awarded her ex-wife Amy Irving $100 million, when they decided to break up. A little bit more expensive was Michael Jordan’s divorce with Juanita, which cost him $168 million. Michael and Juanita had spent 17 wonderful years together, and they had three children. It was Juanita who decided they had to divorce. They tried to settle their family affairs for several years, but nothing worked. Even after the divorce, the couple kept warm relationships: they have a common interest to grow up their children happy and successful.

It should be noted, that many famous figures tried hard to make their marriage work. Elaine and Stephen Wynn married in 1963, divorced in 1986, then remarried and finally divorced again in 2009. The divorce that cost Stephen $740 was, probably, worth of every minute he had spent with his wife. Today, even the biggest money of the world cannot buy a happy marriage. You yourself are responsible for everything happening in your life. Reasons why people divorce vary greatly from one couple to another, but you should know that nothing happens overnight. Star divorces attract so much attention, but there are millions of people who experience similar difficulties every day. All we can do is to value every single moment spent with our beloved husbands!
