Alright so, I know I always talk a good game about women and their standards, but there are some things that every woman deserves.
Lowering your standards, does not mean accepting any kind of treatment from whatever man comes your way. If you’re going to be in a long term committed relationship, there are just some things that should come with the territory. In a random conversation with my girlfriends we came up with a list of standards that all women should want in their man. Check out the list and let me know if you feel the same.
1. Respect – without a doubt, at the top of the list should be respect. All women deserve to be treated with respect. You should require that your man treat you like a lady at all times. Set the bar high for respect; however, make sure that you are respecting him in return.
2. Loyalty – What is a relationship without loyalty? If you’re a good woman, who is in an exclusive relationship, you should demand that your man be loyal to you at all times. While we understand that men will be men, staying committed to the relationship should be your top priority.
3. Companionship – yes, women want a passionate lover, but we also want to have a man who can be our friend. In any good relationship, friendship should certainly be at the core of what you want. If you’re not able to confide in your lover and share an occasional laugh, your relationship will likely not last too long.
4. Intimacy – This is a big one, and this is in most cases where women and men differ. Intimacy is not only physical (sex), it encompasses a whole lot more than doing your part in the bedroom. Women like a guy who is willing to cuddle while watching movies, hold hands when you’re out in public, or simply someone who is willing to cater to her needs as a woman.
5. Attention – After the “honeymoon” stage of your relationship is over, most women can agree that the attention they get from their man is much less than it used to be. Of course, life can sometimes create a hectic schedule for us all, but that does not mean that you’re not entitled to get some attention. Every woman should want attention from their man, even if that means sharing thirty minutes together before bed every night.
6. Love – last, but never least is love. Every woman wants to be loved by her man and should require so after a certain point in the relationship. We can understand that love is an earned quality in a relationship, but it should come at some point. By love, you should also understand this to mean unconditionally, you want someone who will love you despite your flaws and be there with you.
Now, I am certain that I’ve left off a few qualities that you should always require in your man, but you get the gist of it. If you can find a man that is ready and willing to give you all of the above, it’s possible you’ve found yourself a keeper.
