There are times when we can pull our hair back in a ponytail and call it a day, and there are times when it is important to look your best...

Whether you’re going out for dinner with your loved one or attending a professional function or benefit one of the most important parts of your attire will be your hair, and therefore, you want to make sure that you impress. Many women feel that they can’t possibly afford to go to the hair salon to get nice hairstyles because it would cost them a fortune, however, with these tips listed below you’ll be able to create your own styles and look great.

Twisted Low Pony Tail
Of course, the easiest hairstyle in the world is to simply twist your hair back into a ponytail or bun, however that simply won’t do for an elegant event and therefore you will need to spruce up your timeless ideas. You start by using rollers or a curling iron that can put your hair into ringlets. Once you are finished you are going to begin creating the twisted ponytail by starting at your face, and twisting one inch pieces of hair that will create rolls that fall all the way around the your neck and then pin them into place. You can create your ponytail low or use a holder of some sort to hold your hair in place by your neck. When you’re ready to go out the door you will then fluff the curls gently.

Ballerina Bun
Many times when people go to formal events they create these low buns, but by switching things up a bit with a youthful style such as a ballerina bun is great. These buns never go out of style and can also be great in warm weather. You should try the ballerina bun with second day hair so that the natural oils will be able to keep the style in place. Begin by using a boar brush placing your hair into a high ponytail. You then lift the ponytail into the air, making sure to twist it clockwise to make a small bun. Use a pin to put it in place. For a nice touch you can also consider adding accessories to dress up the bun.

French Twist
The French twist has many different variations and they are all very beautiful. You can really get experimental with this style as it can be done with curly or straight hair, you can have your hair all up or some of it down and you can also add accessories. Begin by brushing your hair away from your forehead and gather it at your neck. Next you should twist your hair clockwise twice to make sure the base is steady near your head. While holding the ponytail in one hand you should take the other hand and extend your ponytail to the ceiling. Then fold the hair 1/3 of the way from the top then curl your ponytail as it is folded to create the twist. Once you’ve gotten the twist you want hold it in place using bobby pins.

All three of these styles are great for a night out. Be sure to practice in advance to make sure that you’re happy with your style.
