Can you eat chocolate? How do you think, is it useful for your health and appearance?

Most probably, you have asked yourself these questions at least once in a lifetime. Here, my main goal is to debunk the main myths surrounding chocolate, to make it more pleasing and enjoyable for you.

First of all, let’s assume that we are speaking about healthy women, who have no obvious reasons not to eat chocolate. Here, I mean women who might have a chocolate allergy or suffer diabetes, which does not leave any room for sweet things. I can assume that, even in the absence of physiological problems and diseases, you may be thinking that eating chocolate is one of the greatest sins you could ever commit in life. Chocolate can make you fat… chocolate is harmful to your skin… chocolate is too sweet to be useful… how many beliefs do surround chocolate and how many of them are false?

To a large extent, chocolate (proper chocolate, made of natural ingredients) is not as harmful as it may seem. Natural high-quality chocolate does not cause any adverse effects on health, if consumed reasonably and on time. What I mean is that you should not focus on eating chocolate only. You should not think that natural high-quality chocolate will provide you with all vitamins and nutrients that are necessary for your healthy living. However, there is nothing bad in having a piece of chocolate once a day. Believe me, it tastes so good to eat a small milk or black chocolate with a cup of coffee!

Many scientists believe that chocolate has the potential to prevent cancer. This is mainly because high-quality natural chocolate contains useful antioxidants that impede the development of cancer cells. However, stop thinking that you have found a cure for cancer. No study has ever found a direct causal link between the use of chocolate and the risks of cancer in humans.

Chocolate does have the potential to alleviate the burden of heart diseases, as the cocoa (the main component of quality chocolate) decreases blood cholesterol and increases the levels of useful cholesterol in human blood. However, again, don’t think that, by eating chocolate, you will eliminate the risks of developing a heart disease. We definitely need additional research to confirm that chocolate helps to lower harmful blood cholesterol in humans.

However, one cannot argue that chocolate is a perfect driver of increased mental activity. If you are your work is not physical but mental, try eating a small piece of chocolate in the morning, and you will see how your workplace scores improve. You can also try a piece of chocolate, if you have high blood pressure, as some university studies have shown chocolate can lower blood pressure and reduce hypertension complications in men and women. Finally, if you visit the gym every day and work hard to keep yourself fit, it is chocolate than can help you! Taste some chocolate after a hard workout and you will see how your fatigue goes away!

Be reasonable and make yourself happy with small chocolate joys!
