You can buy all the makeup brushes in the world, but if you don’t have the right brushes, your makeup will never look as flawless as you would like it to.

In order to get a salon perfect look in no time, you need to educate yourself on the different makeup brushes there are out there designed to help you achieve that perfect look. Below you will find out about the different uses for makeup brushes so that you know which ones you should buy to look your best.

1. Blush Brush – this is one of the most important brushes you will have in your makeup accessories. A well made brush can help you achieve a natural glow, affording you more control as you begin highlighting the contours of your face. Blush brushes with natural hair are the ones that come highly recommended by makeup artists. The hairs do the best job of blending the blush power with your skin oils allowing you to have a more realistic glow.

2. Powder Brush – You want to select powder brushes that have a slightly round, medium sized head. The reason for this is so that you have more control as you apply your powder, and it allows you to only apply it to the areas that you’re interested in. Before making a purchase of a powder brush you want to make sure that you test the bristles by rubbing them back and forth across your hand. You want to feel feathery like tips and none of the bristles should begin shedding.

3. Shadow Brush – You want to purchase a very silky and soft eye shadow brush because you’re dealing with your eyes. With that being said, you don’t want to buy brushes that are too bristly or stiff. You should always have two shadow brushes on hand. One that has a flat head that will cover your eyelid and another one that has an angled head for when you’re applying your shadow to the crease.

4. Brow Brush – A general brow brush will come equipped with a lash brush on the other side of it. These work great for smoothing out your brows or getting out blobs of mascara.

5. Lip Brush – The lip brush is used when you’re applying color to your lips. While you might use traditional lipstick a lip brush gives you more control and is also much easier to manage. You want to choose a synthetic brush that has firm bendable bristles on it. This allows you to smooth on your lip color without it being gloppy or streaky.

6. Eyeliner Brush – Another very versatile tool is the eyeliner brush. You are able to use it to blend in your pencil liner to your eye lashes to add a more dramatic feel. You are also able to use it for lining your eyes with powder shadow as a way to add a softer look and feel.

Every woman should make sure that she invests some time and money into purchasing the right makeup brushes. Whether you’re trying to obtain an everyday look, a look for a night out on the town, or something more elegant, having the right brushes can certainly make all the difference in the world.
