Once you reach the ripe age of 40 you may come to realize that the makeup you used to use even three years ago is not having the same affects now.

Instead of being in denial about your age, you should embrace yourself and start looking for making that will best compliment your aging skin. Since there are a large amount of products out there for you to choose from, it should not be too difficult to look great even after turning 40! Below are some great tips on how you can make yourself look and feel fabulous.

1. Moisturize – You must always remember to moisturize your skin. You can switch to moisturizers that are appropriate for your skin that will help firm and reduce fine lines. Make sure you select a brand that works best with your skin type so that you don’t have too dry or too oily skin.

2. Don’t overdo the foundation – Make sure that you mix your liquid foundation with a moisturizer before you begin applying your makeup. Don’t overdo the foundation.

3. Natural products are the way to go – As your skin begins to grow and age it can become very sensitive to those artificial ingredients that you’re used to using. You can easily avoid them altogether by selecting more natural products instead. You should not fear that you won’t find a product as there are lots of natural products you can choose from.

4. Change blushes and eye shadows to cream based – While powder blushes and shadows might have been a thing of the past, as you age these are certainly not the products you want to use. In order to remove the attention from your fine lines and wrinkles, it is important to use cream based products.

5. Go neutral with your shades – While everyone would like to try bold things, it is best that you stick to shades that are more natural to your skin tone. These colors would include shades such as beige, browns, and other colors in that family. You want to do the best you can to avoid things that shimmer or sparkle as this is no longer going to compliment your looks.

6. No drawing on eyebrows – Instead of using a pencil to draw eyebrows on your face you want to consider making them look fuller through filling them in with eye shadow and a brush. This makes them look much narrower and blends in the shadow with your natural eyebrow hair colors.

7. Changes in Lifestyle – Another great beauty tip is to start drinking more water so that your skin will stay hydrated. Begin eliminating fatty and greasy foods and start replacing them with healthy foods for flawless skin. Who knows, one day you could go makeup free!

The last bit of advice is to remember that with the right level of confidence about yourself and a great smile you can add charm to just about any look. Instead of trying so hard to make yourself look younger, try appealing to the aging side of you. No matter how old you become, you’re beautiful.
